Patriotism

So yesterday, my kids were overwhelmed by patriotism and excitement and when it was bedtime, my son decided that the day wouldn't be complete without an official portrait of President Obama. From memory.  He ran into his room after telling us "it's a good thing that I have brown markers" and then there was a lot of "WHAT COLOR IS HIS HAIR?  WHAT COLOR ARE HIS EYEBROWS?"  Thank goodness that he didn't ask about his eyelashes because I can't live with the humiliation of not knowing about the Presidential eyelashes.

And to show that change is really upon us? My son, who has never drawn a nose before, drew President Obama's.  And he's not even Jewish.

Not only the first African-American president, but the first nose! A new era, indeed.

Your son is on the way to becoming quite the artiste. Better than I could draw.

Obama should totally hire your son to do his campaign posters next time. The guy who did this campaign's poster was a former criminal and shit, so he couldn't even officially sell it to the campaign.

Obama couldn't be seen dirtying his hands with a criminal, so he just took that shit for free instead. Isn't it great how America works!

Keep your son off the streets and you could be rich with the next election.

BTW, I learned that shit by NOT watching Rock Love whatever, but by watching Steve Colbert instead. My IQ is SO fucking high right now.

something you should know, marinka, and i don't like being the one to tell you. but it is highly unlikely your son will be gay. sorry. if he had asked about eyelashes, maybe. but it is looking like he will turn out to be a deal maker (see your blog on his bargaining skills v. husbandrinka) with an artistic flair. the women will love him; the het-men, admire him; the lesbos, play hoops w/him; the bi-curious will be bi-curious about him, but the gays will secretly hate him. he encroaches on too much of our territory w/o being one of us. sorry. but nature is a cruel master.
